A Bar Chart is used for technical analysis. It consists of a vertical line at the top, which indicates the high for the period a security traded at during the given time period; the bottom represents the low. The close/last is displayed on the right side of the bar, and the open is shown on the left side of the bar.
This type of chart can be selected from the toolbar shown below, or by right clicking on the chart and selecting "Bar," or by choosing the "Chart" tab from the menu bar and selecting "Bars."
Bar charts are the most popular charts used in technical analysis. The visual representation of price activity over a given period of time is used to spot trends and patterns.
